Signature Academies offer an innovative and unique approach to education that is designed to increase student engagement and foster in-depth learning within specific fields of interest. Each academy offers unique courses and specialized learning opportunities, designed to equip students with practical knowledge and skills. Successful completion will allow students to enter the workforce immediately or continue their education at a post-secondary institution.
The JEFCOED Signature Academy Application Portal for late applications opens on July 18th, 2024!
Applications will be accepted for rising 9th and 10th-grade students through Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at 4:00 pm.
*Applications should be completed by parents and guardians only.
Current Signature Academy Students should not complete a new application.
Signature Academies are optional. Students are not required to participate.

Provides students with an opportunity to take all required courses for a high school diploma and all required courses for an associate’s degree concurrently. Who can apply for a signature academy?
Signature Academies are optional. Students currently enrolled in grades 8 and 9 will be able to apply for a Signature Academy for the next school year.

When can I apply for a JEFCOED Signature Academy?
The Signature Academy application for the 2024-2025 school year will be open from Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 8 a.m. to Friday, January 26th, 2024 at 4 p.m.

How many spots are open for each Signature Academy?
Some programs have more space than others. We will take as many students as space allows.

How many Signature Academies will I be able to attend during a school year?
Students may only enroll in one academy for the 2024-2025 school year.

If a student chooses a Signature Academy at another school, how will they get there?
All students who participate in an academy at a school other than their home campus will travel via JEFCOED school buses.

My student changed their mind. Can I submit another application?
No. Only one application may be submitted per student. Duplicate applications will not be accepted. No changes can be made after the application has been submitted.

How do I find my student’s 10-digit state ID number?
Parents can locate their student’s number in the Parent Portal of PowerSchool. If you do not have access to your Parent Portal account, please contact your student’s current school.
